Emmet Gowin Biography:

Emmet Gowin was born on December 22, 1941 in Danville, Virginia. He received his masters degree in fine arts at The Rhode Island School of Design. Gowin adopted the same idea as his professor Harry Callahan of using his wife to model for his photographs. As his career progressed Gowin was taking pictures of factories, agricultural fields, and nuclear fields. The Museum of Modern Art in New York, The Paul J. Getty Museum in Los Angeles, and the Art Institute of Chicago.
