TPortfolio Analysis

    1. Alyssa Schulkar
    2. Photoj
    3. Judge said that it was too dark, and that some of the pictures were unnecessary to be in the portfolio, but also said that the photographer did not get close enough to the subjects and were not able to connect.
    4. Two things the judges liked were when they got up close and showed the pain like the girl falling over on the hurdles or the man sweeping the street in Haiti.
    5. I didn't like that some of the pictures were not close enough or did not go in depth as much as they could.
  1.
    1. Travis Haughton
    2. Story
    3. The judges said that one of the pictures does not add anything to the story, or they have to many kids in the portfolios, and that many of the pictures they have seen too many times before.
    4. They said that some of the sports pictures captured the player and were standard quality or the non-scripted moment between the child and mother.
    5. I liked that the photographer in some of his photos told stories through them.
  2.
    1. Nick Adams
    2. Photoj
    3. They say that in some of the pictures the foreground blocked the subject, or that they are boring and "terrible pictures, but also that some of the pictures add nothing to the portfolio.
    4. They said that for the first picture it was alright and liked the idea of the gymnast, and the judges also liked the picture of the girl with the birds at the beach on sunset.
    5. I thought it was okay and was quite bland, and didn't have anything that made me say "wow".
  3.
    1. Sam Adams
    2. Photoj
    3. Complained about the back's of people's head in the foreground, said that he should've got closer in some of them, and said that they would like to have the subjects in action rather than not doing anything.
    4. They said that for his first photo they liked the flare of the streetlight and the bmx and they liked the silhouette for the 2nd photo.
    5. I liked the photographers photos I thought that they were more unique than the others.
Winning Portfolio:

  1. The judges liked that they were simple but also liked how he made the subject stop and were focused  on it.
  2. I liked how we was very close to the action like the cross country race or the football players hugging each other at the end of a game.
Recap:
  1. They chose the winner on that the diversity of how he shot the photos and that he had no "clunkers" in the portfolio also compared to the others.
Individual Images:
  1. I agree with them that rugby was voted #1 because of the guy having a finger in his face and still fighting through it, and the photographer did well to capture it at the right time.
  2. I disagree with them about snubbing the runner getting hit by the goose, because that incident is once in a life time and you cannot predict that whereas the other photo that won, someone could go out and do that whenever they want.
