1. He said make sure it is a topic that you care very strongly about, so you can have emotion and passion in it.
2.  If you are writing about a small personal occurrence, give detail and background information before writing.
3.  Be specific with details as they make the reader better understand the story and draw them in, whereas generalizations draw them out of it. Do not use "I" to start every sentence, as it adds boredom to the story. If it is a personal story, make connections to the outside world, that a reader could understand who does not know you personally.

School is where students learn and spend about 12-13 years of their life. Since school is trying to prepare us for the real world, why don't they teach us real world problems?

In schools they are focused on your "core" classes such as English, math, social studies, and science. And I have to agree, yes they are very useful in any job and career but there should be more to it.

Especially with this generation, who don't do everything for themselves to earn it, and can become lazy. We need teachers, more in high school, to teach us problems we would run into as adults.

For example, paying taxes, how to use a bank account and use money wisely, or how to buy a house or car. The list could go on, but there are many things that students coming out of college and high school would need to know in order to live a good and risk free life.

Yes, some would say that school is for academics and that it should be focused solely on those areas of learning, with some electives here and there. And would argue that the students would benefit from learning on their own. But for kids to keep asking their parents how to solve very serious problems , for generations to come, is a problem and could be solved by schools doing just that.

According to a study done by Kathryn Tuggle from FOX Business, according to her findings 87% of teenagers do not know much about personal finances. This is a massive problem which can causes many people to become broke, because they do not know how to save money.

Another study done from Experian, found out that 86% of Americans say they have been broke at one point or another, which is not a great number to have either. This is from people not knowing the repercussions from maxing out credit cards and not saving money carefully.

From 71Republic, they found out that over 75% of Americans are bankrupt or broke right now. As I said earlier the education system can have the finger pointed at them hear, because they have the ability to teach their students life lessons and not just lessons used in the classroom.

In conclusion, schools and the education system should not only teach their students academics, but life lessons that they will need in the future. Mostly regarding money issues and how to deal with problems such as paying taxes, saving money over time, opening a 401K, buying a house, and other important problems that millions Americans run into everyday. From the studies that I presented, many Americans struggle with the concepts that I just said, and if schools implement classes like those, it could change a person's future.
